The 2010 Spelling Bee!
It’s time once again for the Spirited Spelling Spectacular, the 5th annual spelling bee sponsored by the Athens-Clarke Literacy Council. Since 2004, the literacy council has raised money for and awareness of literacy issues by have a good old-fashioned spelling bee.
Our 4th annual bee was a huge success! The competition was fierce, but the Graduate Students & Young Professional Fellowship (GSYPF) of the UGA Catholic Center finally beat the Classic City Roller Girls with the world “orgulous.”
There are many changes in store for the new bee (we even have a new name!) This year, the bee will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, in the Callaway Building of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. The registration fee is now $75. Registration forms and additional information are available on the Bee page. Some of the rules have changed too, so be sure to check out the Spirited Spelling Spectacular Rules.
The bee is limited to 12 teams so gather your teammates, send in the form, and start your studying!
